Minutes of the 2009 Hurff Reunion

September 13, 2009, Gloucester County Library, Mullica Hill, NJ

The September 13"', 2009 Hurff Family Reunion was called to order by President Judith Steward. Before the meeting continued, Robbie Hurff introduced the speaker, Melissa Holtzhouser. Melissa gave a story about the 'Hanging Tree", a tree that has been on her family property for generations and was used to hang the criminals of that time. There was a second call for peaches, ice cream, and pound cake.

Judith resumed the meeting by reading a prayer and saluting the flag. The minutes where read and approved.

The following people were recognized:

Youngest person: Annabelle Musumeci - 2 Months
Oldest person: John Hurff, Sr. - 94 years old
Recently married: Alanna and Matt Musumeci - 3 1/2 years
Longest married: John and Lillian Hurff, Sr. -75 years
Traveling the farthest distance Charles and Eileen Whalen, Richmond, VA

The treasurer's report was given. There is $1,504.26 in the account, not including any expenses incurred during the 2009 reunion.

Robert Parks gave a report on the Hurff Book. He asked for any new information on marriages, deaths, etc.

Since 2009 is an election year, Judith asked if the current officers would be willing to stay in their positions, they all agreed. She did open the floor to nominations asking if anyone else would be interested in these positions. Pat Price nominated Alanna Musumeci for President and she was elected. It was agreed to add the officer's names and addresses to the web site, but only on the section that shows after a member logs on with their password.


There was no old business.

New business: We will send Jackie Marino a thank you note for preparing and supplying the peaches.

The family gathered for the yearly photo.
